Our Employee Engagement Survey is a key tool in measuring how we support and inspire our teams, while our Belonging initiatives help ensure that every employee has the opportunity to thrive.

Building Engagement & Belonging

Since launching our first engagement survey in 2019, we have continuously evolved our approach—leveraging insights to enhance decision-making, empower employees, and strengthen communication across teams. In our most recent survey, key strengths included Quality and Customer Focus, Clear and Promising Direction, and Individual Uniqueness Being Represented and Celebrated—demonstrating that fostering a culture of belonging directly impacts engagement and performance.

To build on this progress, we have adopted a Continuous Listening Strategy, implementing more frequent, real-time feedback opportunities that allow leaders to take meaningful action. Additionally, our Belonging Council plays a vital role in driving engagement by advancing initiatives that promote fairness, meritocracy, and equal opportunities for all employees.

By integrating engagement and creating a culture of belonging, La-Z-Boy ensures that every voice matters and that we continue to cultivate a workplace where diverse perspectives drive innovation, collaboration, and success.

Employee resource groups (ERGs)

Building Community Through ERGs

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) create communities and provide resources for the unique aspects of employees and their allies. Our ERGs bring unique perspectives into rooms, to tables, and in virtual spaces where key decisions are being made. Our ERGs are volunteer-led employee community groups whose core purpose is to drive community and provide support. We currently have five ERGs—and the community is growing, as we are always encouraging our people to bring ideas for new ERGs to the table!

The Working Parent ERG (Employee Resource Group) seeks to represent parents employed within the La-Z-Boy network, by providing the opportunity to network with other working parents, to discuss the unique challenges presented by being a working parent, and to present questions, concerns, or policy proposals to management. Our aim is to bridge the gap between work and home to make LZB the most comfortable place to work for years to come.

La-Z-Boy Multicultural ERG (Employee Resource Group) is about education, acceptance, and respect. Its goals revolve around sharing historical context around cultural celebrations and bringing more company awareness around these events. The group gives members a platform to discuss topics such as race, heritage, culture, and family in a safe space. The ERG aims to bridge the gap between work and home to make LZB the most desired place to work for years to come.

The LZB Pride ERG (Employee Resource Group) is about acceptance, support, and respect. Accepting employees from all walks of life, whether you’re in the community, an ally, or completely new to the community is core to our mission. During our time together we learn the history of the community, acceptable terms, phrases, and labels (or lack thereof), all while giving a space for questions, concerns, and respectful conversations. Additionally, we discuss how we can translate those learnings to the organization. We are a judge-free zone that fosters knowledge, support, and unity. We strive to impact both La-Z-Boy employees and the community around the globe.

The Women’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) is dedicated to empowering and supporting women in the workplace through initiatives centered on professional development, women’s health and wellbeing, and fostering meaningful connections. The group provides a platform for networking, peer support, and allyship, while also encouraging volunteerism and involvement in community-driven projects. Through collective efforts, the ERG aims to create lasting change and impact, promoting a more inclusive and equitable environment for all.

Our Salute (ERG) is focused on empowering military veterans, spouses, relatives, loved ones, and allies by embracing our collective values of courage, curiosity, and compassion.

All of our ERGs are open to all employees, regardless of how they identify. Whether they are looking for community, want to learn more, or simply wish to show support as an ally, everyone is always welcome to participate. Our ERGs exist to foster belonging, connection, and meaningful conversations across our organization.
